LEAF XCEED Music Division – Wind Valley

Here’s one of the more background-ey releases I’ll have. Probably the most BGM-sounding of all my songs from the start up to present. This started out with me trying to channel Yasunori Mitsuda of Chrono Trigger/Cross fame, but I ended up using one of my old MIDI concepts entitled “village”. It was originally in 4/4, and didn’t have strings like what you hear throughout the entire song. If you played Chrono Trigger, it’s easy to see where I was inspired to make a string part like that…forgot the name, but it’s the music for when you first travel through time and see the past world as a whole.

Oddly enough, another inspiration for this track comes from Ehrgeiz, the original Dissidiaon PS1 that utilized Squaresoft characters instead of all the Final Fantasy characters. Specifically, it’s dungeon music for the RPG mode. Both inspirations combined, I ended up with this.

Listening to this piece makes me imagine that I’m in the middle of a green valley high up in the mountains, with the wind blowing against the grass, and windmills in the background. Enjoy!

  1. Winv Valleeeey. Sounds very familiar.

  2. Why does this remind me of both CLAMP School Detectives and Saiunkoku Monogatari? @_@

    • I’m not sure, we’re both reminded of two completely different sets of things XD;; I watched only the first of what you mentioned though :<
